Africa-Press – Angola. The Secretary of State for Military Industry, Afonso Neto, announced this Saturday in Luena, Moxico province, that the Ministry of Defense and Veterans of the Homeland will exclude former combatants “intruders” and give dignity to the troops.
The leader, who was speaking at the national central act of the Day Former Combatants and Veterans of the Fatherland, marked, January 15, said that a re-registration will be carried out to select “the real former combatants” and give a better framework to the social programs.
“We are going to carry out actions aimed at removing intruders from among the guerrillas for a better distribution of goods”, he said.
Among the reintegration programmes, the Secretary of State highlighted the creation of cooperatives, housing policies, health and other resources made available to the sector.
For his part, the president of the Federation of Former Combatants and Veterans of the Fatherland, Vicente Júnior, made a special request to pensioners.
The provincial governor of Moxico, Ernesto Muangala, praised the bravery of the former soldiers, noting that the guerrillas’ action was decisive for the defeat of the colonial yoke and the achievement of independence.
