Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, hopes, this Monday, that the General State Budget (OGE 2023) will be drawn up with the contribution of the political parties and that it responds, gradually, to the concerns of families and companies.

Carolina Cerqueira was speaking at the end of the 3rd extraordinary plenary meeting of the National Assembly (AN), which generally approved the 2023 State Budget Proposal.

At the plenary meeting, which had the record of 51 interventions and 24 points of order from the deputies, the president of the AN said that it was in everyone’s interest that this central document for the conduct of the country’s public policies is not only made by the Executive / Government.

“That it be a budget drawn up with the contributions that the different parties were presenting in the various sessions that we were holding”, he expressed.

According to Carolina Cerqueira, the citizens hope that their representatives can obtain a responsible document, with the possible consensus and that responds gradually to the concerns of the citizens of families and companies.

“Certainly the OGE will come out of the discussion in the specialty improved with the contributions of all. That is why, in this budgetary procedure, I hope that the various representatives remain committed to dialogue and commitment, in order to guarantee a good OGE that responds to the moment we live in” , he pointed out.

The 2023 OGE Proposal, with expenditures and revenues estimated at 20.1 billion kwanzas, prioritizes the social sector, with a weight of 23.9 percent over total OGE expenditure and estimates a reference price of US$75 per barrel of oil and an average oil production of 1.18 million barrels.

In terms of overall expenditure, social expenditure is the second largest after debt service, with a weight of 23.9 percent and is the largest share of fiscal expenditure, accounting for around 43.5 percent of total fiscal expenditure.
