Africa-Press – Angola. The secretary general of the National Assembly of Angola, Pedro Agostinho de Neri, and his Portuguese counterpart, Albino Azevedo Soares, signed Tuesday, in Lisbon, an agreement for the reinforcement of the Protocol of Cooperation between the two bodies.

The Protocol constitutes the formal framework for establishing a cooperation mechanism in the parliamentary domain and for strengthening the institutional capacity of the respective parliamentary administrations.

According to Pedro de Neri, the Cooperation Program focuses on parliamentary support, public relations, protocol and international relations, management of human, financial and property resources, documentation and information, information technologies, communication and image.

He added that it has a duration of three years, with a final evaluation expected at the end of its term.

For his part, Albino Azevedo Soares referred that the current document is the third cooperation program signed with the Angolan parliament, which he considered extremely important, due to the exchange of experiences between the institutions.

He said he hoped that the agreement would enable the training of employees of the two institutions, in order to acquire more knowledge and carry out their work even better.
