Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of Economy and Planning, Mário Caetano João, yesterday recommended to the new President of the Board of Directors of the Special Economic Zone (ZEE), the creation of programs to attract more investors in the agricultural sector in the special zone.
The minister expressed this desire during the presentation of the new PCA to ZEE employees, where he said that there is a specific space dedicated to the cultivation of various products.
“The new management of the Luanda-Bengo Special Economic Zone (ZEE) must work towards boosting agriculture”, underlined the holder of the Economy and Planning portfolio.
Mário Caetano João stressed that everyone who bets on the agriculture sector in the ZEE will benefit from instruments and financial products made available by Banco Desenvolvimento de Angola (BDA)
The manager spoke of the importance of continuing to expand the ZEE and reactivate paralyzed companies through new investors.
The minister added that there is a need to streamline the Investor Support Office so that they can have greater support and attention when they come to invest in the Special Economic Zone.
In turn, the new PCA, Manuel Pedro, committed to implementing actions aimed at attracting more investors and increasingly contributing to increasing national production and creating new jobs in the economic zone.
The new PCA made it known that there will be a diagnosis to find out the areas that deserve greater attention, and left the commitment to collaborate with the management of AIPEX and MIREX to attract new foreign investment.
The Special Economic Zone covers more than four thousand hectares and contains 150 companies employing at least six thousand workers.
