Africa-Press – Angola. The Attorney General’s Office of the Republic of Bié lacks five more magistrates to respond to the demand, defended yesterday, in the city of Cuito, the sub-prosecutor of this body in the province, Jaime Prata.
The magistrate was speaking to the local press, at the courtesy meeting that the sub-prosecutor of the Republic and coordinator of the Center Region, Carlos Manuel dos Santos, held with the governor of Bié province, Pereira Alfredo.
According to Jaime Prata, the PGR currently has 20 public prosecutors, which it does not satisfy, insofar as, per year, more than a thousand criminal cases are introduced in court (Court).
Therefore, he requested an increase of at least five more magistrates, to facilitate the instruction of criminal proceedings, especially in the most remote regions of the province.
On his turn, Carlos Manuel dos Santos praised the commitment of the local government authorities, in the creation of conditions, either of infrastructures or of accommodation of the magistrates, having encouraged to continue with this gesture.
