Africa-Press – Angola. An Angolan delegation took part, from 17 to 18 of this month, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in the conference on the Doha Action Program and Regional Consultation of Least Developed Countries in Africa (LDC).
The meeting, at which the Angolan delegation was headed by the Secretary of State for Commerce, Amadeu Leitão Nunes, took place at the headquarters of the UN Economic Commission for Africa (CEA) and involved topics such as economic integration in the African continent and trade opportunities digital for LDCs.
On the sidelines of the conference, the Secretary of State held a working meeting with the interim executive secretary of the CEA, the Mozambican António Pedro, with whom he discussed matters related to the integration of Angola in the programs of this body of the United Nations system, based in the capital Ethiopian.
This morning, Amadeu Nunes met with a team from the Angolan diplomatic mission in Addis Ababa, led by Ambassador Francisco José da Cruz, having addressed the state of relations between Angola and Ethiopia and the importance of increasing cooperation with the Commission United Nations Economic Policy for Africa.
Adopted by the UN General Assembly in April 2022, the Doha Program of Action for the decade 2022-2031 is a new generation of renewed and strengthened commitments by LDCs and their development partners, based on overarching goals to achieve a rapid, sustainable and inclusive recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic and build resilience against future shocks.
It provides for the eradication of extreme poverty, strengthening labor markets, promoting the transition from informal to formal employment, enabling graduation in the PMA category and facilitating access to sustainable and innovative financing.
