Africa-Press – Angola. Ninety-five young people from the Camizungo neighborhood, municipality of Icolo e Bengo, Luanda province, received professional kits this Friday from the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, aimed at promoting self-employment and improvement of the living conditions of the families.
It is agricultural equipment, mototaxi, cutting and sewing, barbershop, hairdresser, manicure and pedicure, cooking, pastry, carpentry, locksmith, mason, plumber and painter.
The minister delivered the kits to young people from Camizungo when she visited social enterprises of the NGO ATOS, among others, ecological housing for peasants, a health center, a school, a community kitchen, a field with synthetic grass and a fountain.
Esperança da Costa visited all the infrastructures at length and received explanations about what has been done and what still needs to be done.
Started in 2018, the project survives on donations and is gradually replacing, free of charge, sheet metal huts with houses made of ecological blocks, giving greater dignity to peasants.
The young people were happy and guarantee that they will now have better living conditions for their families.
Zilda Lopes, one of the beneficiaries of a cutting and sewing kit, guarantees that she will employ two more people to make the job easier.
Magda Carvalho received pastry material and said she was confident of a good deal for which she thanks the government for supporting young people.
“I didn’t expect that one day a government official would come here to the fields. I am very happy and grateful for the offer. From today, my life will change, I’m sure of it”, said the young mother.
For the young Mário Domingos, his farming kit will make it easier to cultivate his corn field, while another beneficiary, Francisco João, guarantees that he will open a barbershop and employ more young people.
During the visit, Esperança da Costa interacted with the community, made up of more than eight hundred inhabitants, to learn about their reality.
The Camizungo neighborhood is located approximately one kilometer from Estrada Nacional 230, towards Catete/Luanda, adjacent to the entrance to the Mazozo neighborhood. It has existed for over 15 years and is inhabited by peasants from Catete, who come from the provinces of Malanje and Cuanzas Norte and Sul.
