Africa-Press – Angola. The Provincial Chess Association (APX) of Uíge delivered, this Saturday, sporting material to the local Macovi Sport Clube School, as part of the project to promote the sport in the province.

There are five games, a wall board, two chess manuals, two tables, six chairs and three electronic clocks.

On the occasion, the president of the APX of Uíge, Hamilton Cardoso, said that the delivery aimed to improve the training conditions of the chess players of the Macovi Sport Clube do Uíge School.

For him, the great challenge of the body he directs is to provide favorable conditions for local athletes who are preparing to defend the title of national champion in youth, won in 2022, in the city of Uíge.

He added that, this year, the province of Bié will be the stage of the national category.

In turn, the head of the Macovi Sport Clube do Uíge school, Narciso Berlindo, praised APX’s gesture of investing in the mental development of children, young people and adults.

The Macovi Sport Clube do Uíge School, located in the Candombe-Velho neighborhood, on the outskirts of the city of Uíge, controls 56 chess players from 7 to 16 years of age, of both genders.
