The launch of Grupo RNA’s Streaming service is one of the challenges that are part of the modernization of the media in the country and Rádio Nacional de Angola is at the forefront of this programme, said, Monday (07), in Luanda, the minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication.

Manuel Homem, speaking at the launch, said that the initiative is a step that aims to ensure access and dynamism of information in the different channels. He considered that it was necessary for this program to be extended to the entire national territory.

He mentioned that it is also a process of gradual and normal evolution, but that for RNA and for the country it represents a paradigm shift, as it allows access to provincial radios anywhere in the world today, something that already happened with some, namely Radio Luanda.

“Some municipalities also have radios available on the streaming service. Access to radio on the streaming service, in addition to bringing listeners closer to each provincial radio in a particular way, represents this collective work that aims to continue to ensure that all Angolan people, national citizens and foreigners residing in our territory continue to have access to information”, he stressed.

According to the minister, the Internet is being used in a conscious and responsible way, so that content capable of allowing the construction of an increasingly plural society He praised the engagement of RNA’s Board of Directors and its staff, considering the initiative a challenging exercise, but one that was possible with the work of everyone.

“We still have other challenges for Rádio Nacional de Angola, which we must continue to pursue. Today they are using and providing a streaming service, but we continue to work on modernizing the network of RNA broadcasters, because we understand that we must have multiple channels with different forms of content”, he reinforced.

In turn, the chairman of the Board of Directors of Rádio Nacional de Angola, Pedro Cabral, said that the company is marking another step in the historical and evolutionary context of technologies applied to communication systems. and transmission, starting from the valve to the use of transistorized equipment, modern and integrated circuits, permeating by Modulated Amplitude (AM) and Modulated Frequency (FM).

“And today, finally, the use of digital transmission systems, known as streaming service. With the conventional radio model, which will allow the transmission of audio produced in the studios to the FM systems and, at the same time, to the largest network of communication, the Internet”, he highlighted.

In this way, he continued, RNA is overcoming the existing barrier of distance and place between radio listeners, with regard to access to the contents that are produced in the different channels

. today a platform that supports multiple radio channels, which will allow the reproduction of all national radio stations, in addition to the international channel. That is, the platform will feature an International Radio channel, four national channels, 18 provincial radios, five municipal channels,” he explained.

Pedro Cabral informed that RNA will offer yet another reliable and effective source for accessing and listening to all radio stations belonging to the group, from the website www.rna.ao, and allowing anyone, regardless of location, to use the to the Internet, follow the schedule.

Adequate internet security

Regarding the stability of communications, the minister stated that the telecommunications infrastructure that supports the Internet has adequate security for the country’s needs.

“We have to continue to invest in the sector, because security requires a dynamic beyond the normal. Events are quite fast in the world of communications. Therefore, we will continue to post and create human conditions. The country has been training cadres to guarantee greater protection of cyberspace and from a legal point of view, there is a whole set of legislation, which allows the performance of computer security”, he reinforced.

He acknowledged that there is little investment in technological solutions, not only in terms of main infrastructures , but also in Education, in the literacy of companies and individuals. “What we have been following is that we still have a lot of work to do in digital literacy.

People have little literacy. Many have little knowledge about literacy, about how to deal with this phenomenon”, he admitted, informing that the country has six million Internet users and that it is close to seven million, which presupposes a work to expand the universe of access for educators. from Internet.
