Africa-Press – Angola. The continuous focus on evaluating the level of performance of mining operators and the application of legal mechanisms to mitigate the effects of areas in a state of idleness were recommended at the VIII Extended Consultative Council of MIREMPET, which took place from the 11th to the 12th of this month, in the city of Uíge.
The recommendations also include the implementation of projects with a social impact in the communities where exploration activities are carried out, the continued focus on carrying out geological surveys in areas with a higher concentration of metal and compliance with the deadlines established in the Mining Code.
The participants also suggested the implementation of the system that aims to improve the licensing system, registration and sharing of information about the mining sector, preparation of studies on the different types of soil existing in the national territory and other types of raw materials to optimize production agricultural.
In the closing speech of the meeting, the Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo, highlighted the contributions of the delegates of the VIII Extended Consultative Council of Mirempet, information that will contribute to the strengthening of the ministerial department.
He referred that, despite the sector having achieved significant gains in recent years, there is still a long way to go, taking into account the responsibility of this ministerial department in improving the living standards of Angolans.
In this sense, Diamantino Azevedo announced the holding of an extended meeting with Mirempet staff, scheduled for the year 2024, where issues related to the sector will be discussed.
