Africa-Press – Angola. The second secretary of the Provincial Committee of the MPLA, Nelo de Carvalho, reiterated Saturday, in this city, the need for continuous unity and cohesion of the Organization of Angolan Women (OMA), towards its consolidation and representativeness.
According to the politician, the achievement of this goal involves the commitment and dedication of the militants to the political tasks entrusted to them, at all levels.
Nelo de Carvalho made these considerations during the closing act of the 3rd extraordinary meeting of the OMA Provincial Secretariat, which aimed at the election of its deputy provincial secretary Suzana Fernandes and the heads of the Department of Multidisciplinary Policies and Projects, Lourdes Matias and the Discipline Commission and Auditing, Anita Júnior.
He stressed that as the largest female organization in the country, OMA must bring together women from all social strata so that it has more and more militants and becomes more solid and strong.
“The militants must see themselves in the organization and attract other women to join the OMA, demonstrating that it is the most organized, most disciplined and represented organization in the country”, she stressed.
However, he requested the support of elected officials, so that they can work hard to enhance the organization and achieve the party’s objectives, adding that it is up to them to assume a sense of responsibility, militancy and patriotism.
The second elected secretary, Suzana Fernandes, highlighted OMA’s role in building a society of women who are increasingly united and engaged in party participatory work.
He expressed the association’s openness to criticism and suggestions aimed at overcoming obstacles and improving political tasks.
The meeting was chaired by the provincial secretary of OMA, Ana de Abreu and took place under the motto “Angolan Women: Participation, Inclusion and Development”, having elected the deputy secretary with 51 votes in favour, out of the 68 delegates present.
