Africa-Press – Angola. The Angola – United Arab Emirates Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Abu Dhabi Chamber will sign a Memorandum of Understanding later this month.

This commitment was assumed last week, in the political and administrative capital of the Emirates, on the sidelines of the Annual Investment Meeting held, from the 8th to the 10th of this month, in the UAE capital, with agreement being reached, among other points, on the presentation and promoting the establishment of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two counterparts.

Furthermore, the two parties committed themselves to working towards the promotion of the Second Edition of the Conference, called GBA – Global Business Forum Angola, in Luanda, which this year will include the sectors of Agribusiness and Carbon Credits, Diamonds, Gold, Oil and Gas, Tourism and Real Estate, within the framework of the strategy of economic and business events, considering them to be fundamental pillars in the economic and social development of Angola and the United Arab Emirates, an invitation having been formally made for their presence at the event.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry Angola – United Arab Emirates, represented by its president, Bráulio Mohammed Sanda Martins, and the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce led by Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, understood to promote, support and streamline the strategy of diversification and new business of Sociedade Mineira de Catoca, in addition to the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce having expressed interest in the Mining and Green Energy sectors, with a special focus on Solar Energy.

In addition to the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce, the Angolan delegation held a meeting on May 11 with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, assuming the support of that business association for the opening of Catoca’s representative office in Dubai, as well as presenting the diversification strategy and new business for the Angolan diamond company and promote the search for partners for new investments.

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce, through representation at the meeting, led by the regional director for Africa and the Middle East, Khalid Al Ali, and by the person in charge for Southern Africa, Abdulla Momade, also pledged to support the counterpart of Angola for the realization of the Second Edition of the GBA.

In addition to President Bráulio Martins, the director general of Catoca, António dos Santos, and the Angolan diplomatic mission to the United Arab Emirates, Nelson José Solano, responsible for the Economic Sector, participated in the various meetings held in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
