Africa-Press – Angola. The Migration and Foreigners Service (SME), in Cabinda, expelled 119 foreign citizens for illegal stay in the region.

These are 118 citizens of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and one (1) of the Republic of Congo, expelled at the land borders of Yema, in the south of Cabinda with the DRC, and Massabi, in the north with the Republic of Congo.

In a note from the management of the SME in Cabinda, indicates that the result is the result of the operation carried out by the inspection, from the 8th to the 15th of this month, within the framework of the fight against illegal immigration and inspection of foreigners in an irregular migration regime, in compliance with Law number 13/19 of 23 May on the legal regime of foreigners in Angola.

The note also mentions that 51 citizens voluntarily left the city of Cabinda to return to their country of origin, due to loss of documentation and illegal stay, through the land borders of Yema, Tendequela and Chimbuandi.

Seven (7) fines were also imposed during the period, two of which were for individuals and five (5) for companies for failing to update their work and tourism visas.

As for the migratory movement, he made known that 637 citizens crossed the common border with the Democratic Republics of Congo and Congo, through the posts authorized for fluvial and land migratory movement, 465 of which were nationals and 172 foreigners.

The SME in Cabinda claims to be in possession of 897 issued national passports that are awaiting collection by their owners, as well as 14 others with acts of various foreigners that are also awaiting a claim from their users.

For this reason, he appealed for the collaboration of the population in denouncing illegal foreign citizens, taking into account the record of violent crimes that have been registered in the neighborhoods of the city of Cabinda, most of which are carried out by illegal foreign citizens, causing insecurity in the mobility of many city dwellers.
