OAA members in Uíge clarified about prerogatives in the practice of law

Africa-Press – Angola. Members of the Angolan Bar Association (OAA) in Uíge updated Friday their knowledge on prerogatives in the practice of law.

The initiative aims to avoid misinterpretations of prerogatives in the practice of law.

Lawyer prerogatives correspond to specific rights for lawyers, from which other people do not benefit.

Speaking to the press, in the city of Uíge, the coordinator of the National Commission for Prerogatives, Vicente Pongolola, said that the OAA will continue to invest in the legal training of its members, in order to know their rights and obligations.

The official, who was speaking at the lecture on “Prerogatives in the practice of law”, held in the city of Uíge, said that the prerogatives of law are violated by lack of knowledge and misinterpretation by magistrates, in prisons, among other places.

For this reason, he defended the free practice of law, enshrined in the Constitution, especially at a time when some insufficiencies of conditions in the workplace are pointed out.

In turn, the provincial delegate of the OAA in Uíge, Landu Marcelo, appealed to those present to avoid misinterpretations of the prerogatives, justifying that the lawyer must be a good person.

The event, held in one of the hotel units in the city of Uíge, was attended by lawyers, trainee lawyers and other guests.
