Africa-Press – Angola. The ambassador of the United States of America, Tulinabo Mushingi, said Friday in Lubango, Huíla province, that he supports Angola’s candidacy for the presidency of the African Union (AU) in 2025.
Speaking on the sidelines of a visit to Rádio Huíla by the RNA group, the ambassador justified the support for the “vast experience” that Angola accumulates in conflict management and for the guarantee of stability in the sub-region, such as its involvement in processes at the level of the Great Lakes.
He said it is a support that fits in the pillar of Security and Good Governance of the United States in the relationship with partners, therefore, with Angola in the presidency of the AU, it will help the US effort to assure peace in the African Continent.
“We are supporting Angola’s efforts to maintain peace in the country and promote stability in the southern region of Africa”, he stressed.
The diplomat also assured that Angola’s diplomatic work in the search for stability in the sub-region will continue to deserve the support of his country, as it is a fundamental action for achieving peace and development.
A year and four months ago on a mission in Angola, Tulinabo Mushingi, visited Huíla for the first time, where he evaluated projects linked to education and exchange financed by his government, as well as gave a master class at ISCED-Huíla on the 30 years of cooperation with Angola and held a meeting with journalists.
