Africa-Press – Angola. The deputy coordinator of the Follow-up Group of the Political Bureau for the province of Malanje, Manuel Figueiredo, on Saturday appealed to the political forces to prioritize respect for difference and democratic principles, refraining from actions that aim to endanger social peace.

The politician, who was speaking at the end of the Second Methodological Meeting of the Provincial Committee of the MPLA, highlighted the need to consolidate national reconciliation.

In an allusion to UNITA’s initiative aimed at the “Constitution of the Process of Accusation and Dismissal of the President of the Republic”, the deputy coordinator said it was an “anti-patriotic, dangerous strategy that puts legal principles at risk”.

He stressed that the acts and speeches of political parties must be based on strict respect for difference and for those who have, by law, the right to govern, noting that, currently, the focus must be centered on realizing the aspirations of Angolans, which demands innovative ideas from all the living forces of the nation.

In view of this, he exhorted MPLA militants, friends and supporters to maintain serenity, cohesion and a high sense of vigilance, as well as to close ranks around the party leader.

However, the communiqué of the meeting recommended the consolidation of methods of organization, mobilization and functioning of the organization’s structures, as well as the political training of its grassroots organizations.

Furthermore, he recommended strengthening assistance and social protection for former combatants and veterans of the country and their descendants, and other fringes in vulnerable situations, as well as improving political, ethical and patriotic education for militants and citizens in general, for the rescue of moral values.

Under the guidance of the provincial secretary, Marcos Nhunga, the II Methodological Meeting of the MPLA Provincial Committee lasted two days and discussed matters related to the MPLA Communication Strategy 2023/2026, Marketing Plan for 2023, Policies on Information and Communication Technologies and Party Budget Management.

Among the topics addressed, there are also the Methods of Organization, Mobilization and Operation of MPLA Structures, Staff Management Platform, Revitalization, Organization and Operation of Residents’ Committees, Consolidation of Peace and the Democratic State and of Law, Decentralization and Deconcentration of Public Administration, among others.
