Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of Cuanza Norte, Pedro Makita Júlia, announced this Monday, in this city, that the province’s budget execution will continue to prioritize the conclusion of ongoing and paralyzed works.
The aim is to respond to the quality of expenditure required by the country’s current economic context.
The government official made this statement while speaking at the opening of the seminar on Instructions for preparing the General State Budget (OGE) for the financial year 2024.
He urged public managers to rigorously manage the financial allocations allocated, by way of improving and reinforcing the transparency of expenses.
The governor highlighted the approval of the proposal for the Public Investment Program (PIP), for the five-year period 2022-2027.
The PIP contemplates for the province 428 projects of local approval and 851 of central scope, mainly, for conclusion of works already in progress and paralyzed.
The training was provided by technicians from the budgetary area of the Provincial Government and the Ministry of Finance, with the aim of improving budget management, in light of the strategies of the Ministry of Finance.
During the training session, topics such as the “National Development Plan 2023-2027”, “Instructions for preparing the OGE”, “Public Investment Program” and “Execution of Public Contracts” were addressed.
Participants were informed about the criteria for drawing up proposals for the Public Investment Program for 2024, based on the expenditure limit and the medium-term action program.
The event also addressed the Executive’s strategies, which envisage prioritizing investment actions that include financing supported with credit facilities, use of treasury, own funds, projects to combat poverty, reduction of the effects of drought, among others.
Managers were also informed about the need to forecast the expenditure limit, based on the projection of the PIP for 2024, with priority given to actions already in progress.
Provincial directors, municipal administrators, staff and technicians linked to the budget area of different public institutions participated in the said seminar.
