Africa-Press – Angola. Gross credit granted to the non-financial sector amounted to 5.5 billion kwanzas in June this year, an increase of 709.78 million kwanzas over the same period last year.

Of the amount granted by banks, 89.66% represents the debt of the private sector, that is, private companies and individuals, and 10.34% of the loan went to the public sector.

According to data published by the Department of Statistics of the National Bank of Angola (BNA), the indebtedness of the non-financial public sector amounted to AOA 569.04 billion, of which 46% refers to public administration and 54% to public companies.

Compared to the same period last year, there was an increase of 170.58 billion (42.81%).

Of this amount, the debt of private companies corresponds to 3.77 billion kwanzas, an increase of 255.28 billion kwanzas (7.26%).

Individual debt corresponds to 1.16 billion kwanzas, with an increase of 283.92 billion (32.29%).

Private sector debt (private companies and individuals) increased by 539.20 billion kwanzas, from 4.39 billion kwanzas in June 2022 to 4.93 billion in June 2023.

Real sector receives Kz 1.34 billion

For the real sector of the economy, gross credit to the non-financial sector allocated to the real economy amounted to AOA 1.34 billion in June 2023, representing 23.27% of total credit.

Compared to the same period last year, there was an increase of AOA 357.80 billion (36.41%).

Gross credit granted under BNA Notices, for the promotion of the real sector, totaled AOA 929.80 billion, which corresponds to 69.35% of total credit for this process.

By sector of economic activity of total credit granted, manufacturing industries stand out with Kz 604.46 billion, extractive industries with Kz 371.09 billion, agriculture, animal production, hunting, forest and fishing, with Kz 364.08 billion.
