Africa-Press – Angola. he Republics of Angola and Somalia showed, Tuesday, in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), their interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation relations.

According to a press release from the Angolan diplomatic mission in Ethiopia, the two envisaged actions aimed at establishing a mutually advantageous cooperation framework.
On the occasion, they also addressed the question regarding the opening, in Luanda, of a Somali Consulate, which will be under the responsibility of its embassy in Addis Ababa, and should serve the interests of the Somali community residing in Angola.
Bathed by the Indian Ocean, Somalia is a country with about 18 million inhabitants, located at the eastern end of the African continent.
It is bounded by Ethiopia to the west, Djibouti to the northwest and Kenya to the south.
Agriculture is its main economic activity, corresponding to 40% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and 65% of exports.
Ambassador Miguel Bembe is also Angola’s representative to the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA).
