Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, congratulated the Government and People of Cuba on the celebration, this Wednesday, of the seventieth anniversary of the assault on the Moncada Barracks.

In a message sent to President Miguel Díaz-Canel, the Angolan Head of State underlines the effort and resilience of the Cuban people, who, despite going through various vicissitudes, remain firm and cohesive in the struggle to defend sovereignty, freedom and justice , hoping for a prosperous future.

The President of the Republic also addressed a message to congratulate the People and Government of Liberia, which completes 176 years of Independence.

The message was sent to President George Weah, to whom João Lourenço expressed his conviction that the strengthening of existing friendship and cooperation relations could be a solid platform for common actions in favor of the progress and development of both nations.

Angola and Liberia signed, in 2011, a General Cooperation Agreement and a Memorandum of Political Consultations. The documents inaugurated a new stage in bilateral cooperation.

In addition to the General Cooperation Agreement, a Memorandum of Political Consultations was signed between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Liberia and of Foreign Affairs of Angola.
