Africa-Press – Angola. The municipality of Jamba, province of Huíla, has since Friday, for the first time the services of a notary, which has reduced the distance that people travel for authentication and recognition of documents in Matala, to more than 100 km.
Users sought services mainly in the municipalities of Matala and Lubango, an action that forms part of the process of administrative decentralization and bringing services closer to communities.
The municipality of Jamba is thus the 11th in the province to have the service, with Gambos, Chicomba and Chipindo remaining to be provided in the coming months.
The user Marta da Conceição Marcial said it was a service that she did not expect to have now, but it will already help to save the cost of going to Matala to access the service, as well as to avoid floods.
In the same vein, the administrator of Jamba Abel Wandi André, said that they already had civil identification and registry services for some time and lacked notary services, so they expressed their concern to the Provincial Delegation of Justice and Human Rights and were responded to.
“We didn’t open before because it was necessary to train staff in the notary area and therefore we have the three services coupled and we are in time to correspond with the wishes of the population”, he continued.
In turn, the head of the Department for Records and Legal Identification of the Huíla Justice and Human Rights delegation, Ermelindo Eduardo, said that within the protected services there are conservatories, identification and notary offices, so the challenge is to place in all the municipalities of Huila.
He highlighted that it is a service that intervenes in the procedural processing of various acts that the citizen seeks and Jamba has special characteristics, because it has three bank branches and most bank contracts require the intervention of a notary, which is why its installation was urgent.
The municipality of Jamba is 315 kilometers east of Lubango, the capital of Huíla and has an estimated population of 138,147 inhabitants.
