Africa-Press – Angola. The Vice-President of the Republic defended, Thursday (3), in Luanda, the expansion of the Academia do Empreendedor throughout the country, so that more young people benefit from the training given by institutions of the kind.
Bornito de Sousa suggested the idea during his morning visit to the premises of Academia do Empreendedor, located in the Urban District of Benfica, municipality of Talatona, to find out about the degree of operation, as well as the results achieved so far, from the inauguration, on 29 April of last year, by the then governor of Luanda, Joana Lina
The Vice-President of the Republic referred that the Executive has been defending and promoting entrepreneurship and the empowerment of young people, so that, from each level they finish, they can now perform some useful activity. “Training in the areas of Technologies, Exact Sciences, on the one hand, training in the areas of entrepreneurship and, in a broader sense, professional training and the empowerment of young people, so that they can do something, is exactly what we are see here in this enterprise”, he emphasized.
He said that it is already clear to all young people today that no State, regardless of the country, is able to absorb all young people and adolescents. “We were also pleased to see that there is a significant participation of women, who constitute, in fact, the majority of trainees in this center”, he stressed, having, at the time, congratulated the women on the occasion of the 2nd of March.
On the occasion, the Vice-President of the Republic witnessed the signing of the partnership protocol between the Academia do Empreendedor de Luanda and the Association for Promotion, Development, Prosperity and Technology, whose objective is to identify mechanisms that can contribute to training and academic empowerment. of children and young people with a high capacity for learning and entrepreneurship.
He welcomed the volunteering focused on this type of training and social responsibility, having highlighted that initiatives of this kind developed, above all, by companies, can play a significant role in the training and empowerment of young people and adolescents.
Academy puts more entrepreneurs in the market
The Entrepreneur Academy of Luanda placed, yesterday, on the market, 236 young people trained in different areas, who now intend to give substance to the lessons acquired in the training. Some of the students received, on the occasion, complete kits of material from the areas in which they graduated, to advance with the business. Fátima Benedito, 19, was one of the winners, having received a kit for the pastry business. “Now I’m able to do my job and make a big step forward in my business,” she said.
Lizeth Vunge, 34, also graduated in Pastry, received the same kit from the institution and highlights that the business she will start will allow her to employ some people.
Good prospects for this year
The governor of Luanda, Ana Paula de Carvalho, said that the prospects for the Academy this year are positive, announcing the inclusion, in the training schedule, of courses in the areas of languages and arts, for an estimated universe of more than 500 trainees. , doubling last year’s results.
“From now on, we express our willingness to benefit from public funds intended for the promotion of entrepreneurship and innovation”, he assured, stressing that it is the intention of the Government of the Province of Luanda that the Academy is also a center for the transformation of women, in order to empower them for the current challenges of the national market.
Professional qualification
The Academia do Empreendedor de Luanda is a center dedicated to the professional training of adolescents and young people in the field of business creation and development skills, as well as technical and deontological training, in order to promote employment and self-employment.
Since it started operating in April last year, the Academy has carried out various training courses in Pastry and Cooking, Decoration, table and bar, hairdressing, sewing, software development and assembly of satellite dishes, plan and management of micro and small businesses, having trained 219 entrepreneurs, of which 60 percent were young women and 89 percent were aged up to 30 years.
The Academy is open to the public and membership requirements are essentially 8th grade completed and be between 14 and 15 years old minimum. Exceptionally, the institution receives some trainees outside this scope, as long as they present the conditions and capacity to form business ideas.
