MPLA militants reaffirm support for their leader

Africa-Press – Angola. Hundreds of MPLA militants demonstrated Saturday, in the city of Benguela, their unconditional support for the party leader, to continue at the forefront of the country’s destinies.

During a march that went through several arteries of this city, the militants expressed in different ways their unconditional support for the leader, “towards a better Angola for his children”.

They consider the proposal for the removal of the President of the Republic recently presented by the UNITA parliamentary group to be unreasonable, without foundation and without “legs to walk”.

Speaking at the end of the march in support of the President of the Republic, the first secretary of the party in Benguela, Luís Nunes, said that although it is foreseen in the Constitution, “it is a tool that is being used by mere populism”.

“This process, in addition to being of such complexity, also imposes extreme responsibility, concrete arguments, evidence and patriotic commitments, taking into account its collective consequences”, he considered.

For the first secretary, it is irresponsible to activate a constitutional mechanism without bases, feeding slander, populism, intending to sow instability.

“It is truly regrettable the abusive use of the instruments of democracy to draw the attention of the people and foment discord, division and social chaos”, he stressed.

The MPLA, in view of the challenges facing the country, considers unconditional support for its leader to be of capital importance, expressing its vote of confidence.

Luís Nunes said it was important to look back, see the achievements and achievements that were achieved under the President’s guidance, regarding the measures adopted to promote Education, Public Health, Social Justice and economic development, which are effectively undeniable”, he recalled.

LuÍs Nunes also added that it is imperative to look at the general picture and recognize progress, despite the difficulties, ignored by the opposition.

“Our president assumed the responsibility of leading the country in challenging times, with social and economic complexities, which we have been going through, with political courage”, he defended.

Still on this issue, he added that necessary measures were implemented for the solid and sustainable growth of the country.

“In a determined way, the president broke with corruption, pointing the direction of the State’s organic reform and economic sanitation, dispelling attempts at easy and immediate ways of those who forget the future, living in the present”, he said.

He called for unity around the defense of democratic values to strengthen the nation and overcome the challenges of the future.

“Today it is necessary to create solid, sustainable foundations, built in different phases and that is a complex path and takes time, because it is necessary to follow a path”, he concluded.
