Africa-Press – Angola. The first secretary of the MPLA in Cuando Cubango, José Martins, exhorted, this Saturday (29), his party’s militants to guide a peaceful, solidary and fraternal coexistence, for the maintenance of peace and unity among Angolans.
José Martins made this statement during the mass political act that brought together hundreds of MPLA militants, friends and supporters in the Dumbo sector, Menongue, capital of Cuando Cubango, in order to close ranks around the leader of the party João Lourenço.
He said that the President of the party assumed the responsibility of leading the country in challenging times, with social and economic complexities, but that yesterday improvements are being noted, whose advances are visible in all beasts, which requires more effort.
“Our MPLA party has always placed the resolution of the problems of the Angolan people as a priority, which is why it works hard to systematically improve the living conditions of the population”, highlighted the politician.
The first secretary of the MPLA highlighted that, as part of its responsibilities for improving the quality of life and well-being of the population of Dumbo, construction is underway on a medical post, a school, a water supply system and other services together with the population.
José Martins promised, for the next few days, the installation, in this sector, of a solar energy system for residences and public lighting, in order to reduce costs with generator sets that need diesel, lubricants and maintenance of the same equipment.
The political act was marked by the delivery of agricultural inputs to peasant families, essential goods, sports equipment to young people and motorcycles to action committees to improve the mobilization work.
The act was also preceded by the holding of a health fair, which attended more than 1,365 patients with various pathologies, in the areas of paediatrics, maternity, vaccination, among others.
