Africa-Press – Angola. The Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas (MIREMPET) and companies providing local services signed, this Tuesday, the first seven Program Contracts on Local Content, an act that marks the implementation of its Presidential Decree in force for three years.
The contracts were signed between the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, and the companies Sonangol-EP, Etu Energies, Atis-Nebest, Grupo Simples Oil, Cabship, Sonamet and Tecssep.
With the signature of the program-contracts, the Ministry begins to execute Presidential Decree nr.271/20, of October 20th, which regulates the necessary conditions for the effective growth of the presence of national companies in the oil sector, as well as the generation of employment opportunities and qualification of the national workforce.
The diploma also aims to give space to Angolan companies in service provision contracts with oil block operators in the country, businessmen and associations of national local content companies, previously with little access to contracts linked to the sector.
The aforementioned law created three contracting regimes for Angolan companies, namely exclusivity, preference and competition.
