Africa-Press – Angola. The 11 de Novembro stadium was recently inspected to verify the progress of the works, in the context of Petro de Luanda’s participation in the African Football Super League.

According to the National Director for Sports, Nicolau Daniel, the purpose of the inspection was to assess the level of progress of the requalification works according to the latest recommendations from CAF, for the event next October.

Speaking this Thursday on the sidelines of an interview, in which he addressed the state of sport in SADC Region 5, he said that the work already carried out merited a favorable opinion, which is why the inspectors return to the country just ten days before the race to confirmation of amendments.

Among the various recommendations, emphasis should be given to rehabilitating the grass, which will be replaced by CAF itself, and changing the entrance for VIPs, which is currently done via a lift and should be via a tunnel.

Nicolau Daniel said that advanced repairs are also found in areas such as elevators, the presidential zone and changing rooms.

Built to host the 2010 African Football Championship, the 11 de Novembro stadium, in Luanda, has been the target of several closures, the last two due to the poor condition of the grass and the other under the guidance of the Ministry of Youth and Sports for requalification.

The opening ceremony of the first edition of the African Super League, which will have the participation of the ten best teams in the continental ranking, will be held in Tanzania, whose representative is in pot two of the draw, as well as Petro de Luanda.
