Africa-Press – Angola. Twenty groups, of the 40 initially registered, will participate, starting next Sunday, in Lubango, in the first Provincial Festival of Modern and Traditional Dance of Huíla, part of the cultural program of the Festas de Nossa Senhora do Monte, which started on Tuesday.

The artistic director of Showas-Produçoes, Justina Kibeca, told that the festival will take place on Sundays, until the end of the month, and the first to perform will be the groups VLS, Os Ketcha, BFM, Ginkanas, Fenómeno Cultural, Arte of Welfare and the Cultural Millenium.

The second Sunday is reserved for the sets Black Toque, GB Dance, Unidos por Semba, Turma Dance, Team Fluxo, RMS Dance and the Misters, while on the last one the dispute will be between SBD, Mil Toques, CRA, Os Converse, Asteid Pd, Arts Touch of Huíla and Noise of Semba.

The artists, according to the source, will exhibit, in addition to modern dances, such as kizomba, tango, waltz and salsa, traditional styles, with emphasis on Topola, Ndjando, Tchissossi, Ekwendje, among others that carry popular manifestations and meanings. of local ethno-linguistic groups.

The winning group will receive 400,000 kwanzas as a prize and the rest will receive participation certificates.

Data from the Provincial Office for Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports indicate that Huíla controls more than 50 traditional and modern dance groups.
