CASA-CE wants to review the fuel subsidy withdrawal plan

Africa-Press – Angola. The Convergência Ampla de Salvação de Angola – Electoral Coalition (CASA-CE) defended, this Friday, the revision of the plan to withdraw the fuel subsidy, given its impact on the economy and society.

In a statement read at a press conference by the leader of CASA-CE, Manuel Fernandes, the Coalition suggested reducing the percentage of the Labor Income Tax (IRT) by 50 percent.

The politician asked for the reduction of Value Added Tax (VAT) on all products, with a view to giving back purchasing power to the population in the acquisition of goods and services.

He advised the Executive to reexamine the proposed revision of the Law on the Exchange Regime Applicable to the Oil Sector.

According to Manuel Fernandes, the intention is to make the economic measures to contain inflation feasible.

The leader of CASA-CE considered it necessary to reinforce the supply of shopping centers with products from the countryside.

As for imports, he argued that it should stick to what is necessary to save foreign exchange and ensure the equitable distribution of national income, as well as the review of measures to resort to indebtedness.

In the declaration, CASA-CE considered it important to reform the judiciary, guaranteeing the election of judges by their peers.

The Coalition, without a seat in Parliament, defends that the municipal elections be held based on the current administrative division of 164 municipalities, adding that the increase in city councils would make the management of public expenses more difficult.
