Africa-Press – Angola. A march in support of the President of the MPLA, João Lourenço, was held Saturday, in the 16 municipalities of Uíge province, in an initiative of political training in the region.
In the provincial act, held in the municipality of Negage, the militants, friends and supporters of the political formation traveled through several “arteries” of the municipal headquarters, showing messages of support to President João Lourenço.
In the welcome message, the MPLA’s first secretary in Negage, Delfina Henriques, discouraged acts that threaten peace and democracy.
In turn, the first provincial secretary of the MPLA in Uíge, José Carvalho da Rocha, said that, at all times, the party in the region is always on the side of the party president.
For this reason, he appealed to militants, friends and supporters of the political formation to continue to close ranks to support President João Lourenço.
He also appealed for the preservation of peace, justifying it as an achievement that allows the continuous construction of schools, hospitals and other infrastructures in the country.
The act was also marked with several musical-cultural moments and a motorcycle race.
March at the provincial headquarters of Uíge
In the municipality of Uíge, the first municipal secretary of the MPLA, Maria Fernando Cavungo, exhorted the political formation militants to redouble their vigilance, as well as to continue to support the president of the MPLA.
He also highlighted the creation of conditions to attract national and foreign investment in the country.
On the other hand, Maria Cavungo appealed to the youth to invest in academic and professional training, in order to face the challenges of society and prevent them from deviating from moral and ethical principles.
