Africa-Press – Angola. The authorities of the Urban District of Cabolombo, municipality of Belas, in Luanda, intend to recover the underused land, to build socio-economic projects.

The information was confirmed, this Saturday, by the local administrator, João de Deus Ndowa, adding that this action was intended to find land for the implementation of social projects, in the district with an area of ​​56 square kilometres.

He underlined the fact that 30 percent of the land is illegally occupied, fenced and unused, which makes the execution of projects difficult.

He explained that legal procedures are underway, with a view to expropriation for public use.

Of the projects in the pipeline for this year, the construction of general education schools, as well as health posts, stand out.

According to the administrator, the district, with around 50,000 inhabitants, has three primary schools and three public health clinics, which operate on limited hours.

Cabolombo includes the neighborhoods Tanque Seco, Zona Verde, Sossego, Luquembo and Canhanga.

The urban district of Cabolombo corresponds to 5.53 percent of the territory of the municipality of Belas, its existence part of a private initiative of self-construction directed with architectural infrastructures.
