In second and third place, in that class, were the athletes Olga from Escola Macovi Sport Clube with six points and Rosalina Mutumbulua, from the René Castilho team, with five points, in an event disputed between 11 athletes and Huíla was in seventh place.

The two champions were also the best in under-18, an award-winning category in the championship in question.

When talking about his achievements, chess player Luther Santos said that because it was his first national, the satisfaction is enormous, rewarding his effort during the training process.

He pointed out that he had opponents at the height, who showed determination, strength and knowledge in the game and was competitive, so for the next competitions he has the responsibility to study more and be more disciplined in training.

In turn, Renelsa António, 18 years old, said that it was not difficult to win the championship, as he was always in first place, even with the only draw, so he will do his best to have a good participation in the world cup that takes place in November of the current year.

About the race, the international referee Abílio Ribeiro, pointed out that the championship was at a good level and had an acceptable participation, with the participation of 43 athletes from the five provinces represented.

He regretted the fact that the provinces of Benguela, Malanje, Cuanza Sul, Huambo and Uíge, which also have good players in this category, were not present at the tournament.

He made it known that the winners and the other two classified on the podium have a pass to participate in the African championship and if they have a good classification they will go to the world cup, which takes place in Egypt, in November of the current year.

Two under-16 athletes who are going to the category’s world championship, from the 12th to the 19th of this month in Holland, also participated in the global athletes’ championship.
