Africa-Press – Angola. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism is working towards the formation of the National Orchestra, which will serve as a cultural banner in some shows, announced this Monday in Luanda, the holder of the portfolio, Filipe Zau.

According to the minister, who was speaking to the press after a meeting with four students from the Kaposoka Symphony Orchestra trained in Russia, the country is in need of having a National Orchestra that serves as a cultural flag for some shows to be held.

According to Filipe Zau, people with the necessary training to fulfill this goal are finally arriving in the country.

“Today, to have an orchestra, we have to have people who have serious musical training, not just those who play by ear, but those who can read a score, interpret it and develop their activity in various musical styles, some of universal character and others of popular nature”, he said.

For the minister, the great embryo for the creation of the National Orchestra is in the Kaposoka Symphony Orchestra, which has been developing with a universal classic repertoire and a more popular one, and with this one can have there a good matrix of what is desired for the future.

According to the minister, the shows of the future National Orchestra will take place in the premises of the former National Assembly (which will be rehabilitated shortly).

In turn, the director of the Kaposoka Symphony Orchestra, Pedro Fançony, said that there are currently 43 scholarship students in Russia from his group.

Pedro Fançony expressed, for this fact, a feeling of gratitude to God and the Angolan Government which, after learning about the project, he always supported.

Founded in 2008, the Kaposoka Symphony Orchestra is made up mainly of children, teenagers and young people from underprivileged families.

The project, which currently has at least 600 students, has schools in Samba, Zango III, Catete (Luanda) and Sumbe (Cuanza Sul).
