PGR wants greater procedural dynamism in Chinguar

Africa-Press – Angola. The Public Prosecutor for the judicial province of Bié, Jaime Inácio Prata, defended, in the municipality of Chinguar, 75 kilometers west of the city of Cuito, the need for the Public Prosecutor’s Office to imprint greater dynamism and procedural speed in this region, with a view to materializing the good administration of justice.

Speaking this Monday, at the presentation of the new prosecutor at the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) of Chinguar, Aciara José, the official underlined that procedural speed required ensuring more confidence to citizens and avoiding justice by one’s own hands.

As for the new magistrate, the public prosecutor in Bié recommended that she promote the legal culture in this municipality among the populations and the Local State Administration, in order to observe compliance with the principle of legality.

On the other hand, he appealed to the populations of the municipality of Chinguar to continue to excel in denouncing crimes to the local police authorities.

On the occasion, Aciara José, who replaces Nádia Cândido in office, said that the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) will continue to play its role as guardian of legality in this part of the country, aiming to ensure more confidence among citizens.

Chinguar, with more than 100 thousand inhabitants, distributed in the communes of Cangote, Cutato and in the municipal seat, has two attorneys.

The PGR currently has 20 public prosecutors, which is not satisfactory, given that, per year, more than a thousand criminal cases are filed in court (Court). Therefore, he wants an increase of at least five more magistrates, to facilitate the instruction of criminal processes, especially in the most remote regions of the province.
