Africa-Press – Angola. The 3rd Extraordinary Meeting of the JMPLA elected in this city, Rubens Domingos Muondo, as the first provincial secretary of the youth branch of the MPLA.

27 years old and with a degree in Sociology, Rubens Muondo fills the vacancy left by Dilangue Baião, who ceased his mandate due to incompatibility of functions.

The new secretary, who will continue the 2019-2024 term, ran with militant Vanda Bumba Francsico.

In his first speech, Rubens Muondo ensured the maintenance of the influential role of JMPLA as a motor for mobilizing the youth and the people in general, as well as the continuous engagement in the defense of the interests of the Angolans and in the fight against actions that aim to destabilize the country.

He highlighted the strengthening of internal unity as another line of action, with a view to facing upcoming challenges, with a focus on the 2027 general elections, having also noted that the organization will pay particular attention to young zungueiras, motorcycle taxi drivers and young farmers.

On the other hand, he appealed to the party to continue to respond to the problems of youth in the province, with emphasis on the materialization of the dream of home ownership, expansion of higher education, technical and professional training, employment and conditions for practicing sports.

On the occasion, the coordinator of the Monitoring Group of the National Secretariat of the JMPLA to the province of Malanje, Bernardo Catoto, challenged the new secretary to keep alive the flame of the youth wing of the MPLA, working hard to mobilize young people in the province.

Guided by the second secretary of the Provincial Committee of the MPLA, Nelo de Carvalho, the III Extraordinary Meeting of the JMPLA had a voting population of 93 militants.
