Africa-Press – Angola. The national senior men’s basketball team will face, Tuesday, in Tokyo, a similar one from Japan, in the opening of the tournament “Softbank CUP’2023”, which will be played in this Asian country
To be held at Arena Ariake, Angola will play against the hosts, in an antechamber competition to the 19th edition of the Basketball World Cup, which starts on the 25th of this month, ending on the 10th of September, in the Philippines, Indonesia and Japan.
Also part of the tournament are France and Slovenia. On Saturday, coach Pep Clarós’ men lost against Japan, by 68-72, in another friendly match.
In the world, the national five is in Group A, with Philippines, Italy and Dominican Republic, the latter is the opponent of the debut.
The hosts of the tournament are in Group E, with Germany, Finland and Australia.
