Africa-Press – Angola. The recognition of the Luchazes as one of the country’s “Resilient municipalities”, whose distinction took place during the Municipality and Cities Fair of Angola (FMCA), stimulates production to leave the list of the poorest regions, said the local administrator, Quintas No fuss.

The municipality of Luchazes (Moxico), the second poorest in the country, according to official data, was part of the Resilient category, won by Curoca, from Cunene, the poorest in Angola, according to the results of the latest report on multidimensional poverty in Angola.

Speaking about participating in the event, the official said that the distinction is a driving reason to overcome and bring the region closer to the level of other municipalities in Angola.

He highlighted that the fair was an opportunity for learning and establishing contacts with potential investors, in addition to gathering experiences from other municipalities, provincial governments, public and private companies.

Luchazes took to the fair, which took place from the 10th to the 13th of August, in the province of Huila, honey, fish, beans, rice, maize, cassava, yams, among others.

The municipal administrator of Camanongue, Irene Maquecha da Conceição, highlighted the sale of 90 percent of the products on display, having collected more than one million kwanzas.

The event was attended by 528 public and private companies, whose turnover was one billion kwanzas.

More than 40,000 people visited the Municipalities and Cities of Angola Fair, against 29,000 in the previous edition held in Benguela, according to the organisation.
