Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, this Wednesday congratulated the Congolese people, the Government and President Denis Sassou Nguesso, on the celebration of the 63rd anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Congo, which is celebrated yesterday.
In the congratulatory message, João Lourenço expressed satisfaction and appreciation for the way in which the Republic of Congo has been conquering an important space in the concert of African Nations.
He added that the referred achievements are a result of the commitment of the Republic of Congo in building a consistent democracy and the solid foundations on which the country’s economic development programs are based.
President João Lourenço expressed Angola’s interest in continuing to make efforts, aiming at the continuous strengthening of the existing friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries.
The Republic of Congo is located on the African continent, more precisely in the central region of Africa, it has a territorial extension of approximately 342 thousand square kilometers.
The country borders Angola, Cameroon, Gabon, the Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Its capital is the city of Brazzaville.
