Africa-Press – Angola. The Cabinda Taxi Drivers Association (ATC) has been appealing to local taxi drivers to register and license their means, with a view to obtaining a credit card to subsidy the price of gasoline, from 300 kwanzas to 160 kwanzas.

Saturday, the vice-president of the ATC, Fernando Mabanza, said that the association has already launched this campaign since June 1 of the current year, but the registration of adhesion continues to be weak on the part of taxi drivers. .

Fernando Mabanza, who does not provide numbers of taxi drivers who have already benefited from credit cards, said he does not understand the reasons for this weak participation and maintained that the awareness campaign will continue so that the right to obtain a gasoline subsidy credit card reach everyone who legally works as a taxi driver in Cabinda, including motorcycle taxi drivers.

́ ́We have been appealing to taxi drivers to go to the licensing posts and legalize their vehicles, with a view to obtaining gasoline subsidy credit cards ́ ́, he asserted.

ATC has control over 28 taxi cooperatives in the province of Cabinda, with around 1,300 members.

The tariff applied by taxi drivers in a ride remains between 150 and 200 kwanzas per route.
