Africa-Press – Angola. Ninety-four projects of the Integrated Plan of Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM) in Cuanza Sul, out of the 126 foreseen, have already been completed and handed over to the populations, informed, this Wednesday, in Sumbe, the director of the Office of Studies, Planning and Statistics, Guilherme Quiçassa.
The official referred that, of these projects, 11 are of central scope, seven of the provincial government and 108 under the aegis of the municipal administrations, linked, above all, to the sectors of education, health, communication routes, supply systems of water and electricity.
He added that the works already carried out were budgeted at more than 18 billion kwanzas, corresponding to a financial execution of 62 percent.
“The balance is positive, taking into account the projects that have already been completed. At the moment, at provincial level, we have registered a global physical execution of the works of 77.4 percent and we believe that the works will be concluded within the foreseen deadlines, for the benefit of the populations”, he stressed.
For this reason, he appealed to contractors to honor the commitments undertaken, under penalty of being held criminally responsible.
With an area of 55,660 square kilometres, the province of Cuanza Sul has an estimated population of two million and 200 thousand inhabitants, spread over 12 municipalities and 36 communes.
