Africa-Press – Angola. The first national secretary of the JMPLA, Crispiniano dos Santos, this Thursday, in Bié province, condemned any action aimed at removing the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, considering it an act of subsidy to the constitutional order.
The politician was speaking to JMPLA militants, representatives of the country’s 164 municipalities, on the sidelines of the III national methodological meeting on the organization’s work, which takes place on Friday, in the city of Cuito.
In July of this year, UNITA, the main opposition force, presented to Parliament a legal file that aims, in essence, to remove the President of the Republic.
Crispiniano dos Santos considered this strategy a way of taking power outside the current institutional political framework, since the President was democratically elected by the majority of Angolans in the last elections, held in August 2022, precisely one year ago.
Therefore, he requested more support from the militants around the party leader.
On the occasion, the first secretary of the MPLA in Bié, Pereira Alfredo, asked the young people of the organization and not only to remain firm and to continue to believe in the government’s programs, which aim to improve the lives of the populations more and more.
The first secretary of JMPLA in Bié, Alfredo Vieira Capitango, said that the local youth has a positive conscience, that they always look at the historical path that led the country to definitive peace.
For him, the Bié militants continue to be engaged in raising awareness among the population in the sense of opposing any unfounded information about the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.
The first secretary of this organization in Huíla, Ilda Martins, referred that the militants in her province are calm and alert against any act that aims to destabilize the country and social harmony.
He said that in Huíla province, for example, youth are aware that UNITA’s plan aims, above all, at distracting the population from seeing the economic reforms that the country is experiencing.
In Cabinda, the JMPLA supports all the strategies outlined so far by the MPLA leader and closely follows the country’s development process, said its first secretary, Suzeth Velasco.
The first secretary of JMPLA in Benguela, Guilhermina de Araújo, stressed that young people should continue to close ranks in support of the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, as he considers him a fearless leader focused on the country’s development.
The act was preceded by a march that aimed to support the leader of the MPLA, João Lourenço.
