Africa-Press – Angola. Fifteen Angolan technicians from the Support Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (INAPEM) will be sent to Brazil, in the coming months, in order to be trained in matters related to startups, entrepreneurship and assistance to micro and small enterprises.
The fact was announced this Thursday, in Luanda, by the chairman of the Board of Directors of INAPEM, João Nkosi, during the audience that the Minister of Economy and Planning granted to the president of the Brazilian Service of Support to Micro and Small Companies (SEBRAE) , Décio Aneth de Lima.
On the occasion, the manager also mentioned that INAPEM plans to deepen relations with SEBRAE to provide sustainability in the future National Entrepreneurship Strategy, taking into account the experience of Brazil, which will support the discovery of new talents in Angola.
To this end, he added, this Friday (the 25th), the two institutions will sign an agreement to reinforce their cooperation, within the scope of the working visit to Angola by the President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who arrived to Luanda this Thursday (24).
As a result of that agreement, he added that SEBRAE ensures that it will deploy a team of specialists in Angola to carry out a thorough diagnosis of INAPEM with the aim of designing a guiding plan.
For his part, the president of SEBRAE), Décio Aneth de Lima, said that his institution’s presence in Angola serves to recover and consolidate the process of building a more solid partnership with INAPEM, with the aim of promoting and enhancing micro and small businesses.
Furthermore, he highlighted, the Brazilian institution will sign a more consistent agreement to create a “door of hope” for Angolan entrepreneurs.
He guaranteed to work with INAPEM in order to contribute to the reinforcement of the process of innovation, sustainability and social inclusion that Angola and Brazil aim for both peoples.
“We are the gateway to the dreams of Angolan and Brazilian entrepreneurs who want to earn an income and contribute to the country’s economic growth,” he said.
Décio Aneth de Lima considered the promotion of micro and small companies as the basis for the growth of the countries’ economies.
On the other hand, the Minister of Economy and Planning, Mário Caetano João, said that, at the meeting, SEBRAE guaranteed to support the Angolan Government in the mobilization of more than 1000 startups in the third edition of the “Angola Startup Summit”, scheduled for April 2024 , an initiative that surpasses the intention of the MEP, which provided for the participation of 500 startups.
The first edition of Startup Summit 2022 had the participation of 35 startups, while the second had 160 startups.
Speaking to the press, the official hoped that the interaction between INAPEM and SEBRAE would serve to intensify the cooperation of the two institutions, taking advantage of the institutional maturity and experience of the Brazilian association.
He considered SEBRAE as one of the most solid institutions and the sixth most reputable brand in Brazil, in the field of entrepreneurship and startup.
With that, the minister said he was looking forward to this partnership, hoping that the Brazilian institution would support INAPEM to reinforce its institutional maturity, with a view to helping transform the dreams/projects of young entrepreneurs into a reality that can contribute to the growth of the Product Gross domestic (GDP) of Angola.
Angola and Brazil Cooperation
Cooperation between Angola and Brazil began to take shape on June 11, 1980, with the signing of the Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation Agreement.
Under this agreement, the two countries developed bilateral cooperation in the areas of health, culture, public administration, professional training, education, environment, sports, statistics and agriculture.
Brazil was the first country in the world to recognize the Independence of Angola, proclaimed on November 11, 1975, by then President António Agostinho Neto.
