Africa-Press – Angola. The secretary of UNITA in Huambo province, Apolo Yakuvela, defended, this Friday, the implementation of new socio-economic measures, by the Executive, to improve the living conditions of the population.
The party member, who was speaking during the 2nd ordinary meeting of the UNITA committee in Huambo province, pointed to the increase in prices of the basic food basket, the difficult access to fertilizers and other agricultural means, as one of the social situations that need to be reversed urgently.
He also highlighted the number of children outside the education system, among other situations, which make life for the majority of the country’s population, in particular Huambo, increasingly difficult, hence the need for the Executive to have a strategic vision focused on the resolution, in an adjusted and realistic way, of the problems of the Nation.
Apolo Yakuvela said it was important for the government to be more inclusive and participatory, with a focus on sustainable development.
The 2nd ordinary meeting of the UNITA Committee in Huambo province analyzed the socio-economic and political situation in the country and in this region of the Central Plateau, in particular.
