Executive reinforces message for purchasing “Made in Angola” products

Africa-Press – Angola. State and budgeted units are obliged to purchase products with “Service Made in Angola”, from January 2024, reinforced the Minister of Economy and Planning (MEP), Mário Caetano João.

Speaking in an interview on Angolan public television, he highlighted that the measure announced by the Government is intended to stimulate the consumption of national production and increase competitiveness.

The measure should come into effect from January 2024 and establishes that “public institutions are obliged to buy ‘Made in Angola’ goods and services”, products that incorporate 30 percent of raw material in their production.

With this measure, it is expected that the restructuring of the Service Made in Angola will encourage an increase in the national production of raw materials and mainly of finished products and services, promoting products with National Added Value (VAN), above 30% , and also encourage the consumption of national products, thus transmitting greater confidence to consumers.

The Made in Angola Service aims to mobilize companies towards economic growth, seeking to improve the competitiveness of national goods and services and contribute to the sustained balance of the trade balance.

With this service, the Executive recognizes the importance of promoting and valuing national production for the development of the economy and national employment, establishing the Made in Angola service.

This service is an initiative to encourage and promote what is produced at national level, to accelerate, in a focused and effective way, the diversification of national production and mobilize the country to increase the consumption of what is produced in Angola.

Another distinctive feature of Made in Angola is to highlight a strategic alliance between the State and the private sector, and in view of this, this initiative takes advantage of the best that has been proposed and/or is ongoing.
