Africa-Press – Angola. The National Senior Men’s Basketball Team will face, this Thursday, at the Smart Arena Coliseum pavilion (Manila), at 9 am, the similar one in China, for qualifying from the 17th to the 32nd place of the 19th edition of the World Cup, which takes place in Japan, Philippines and Indonesia.
In the history of the two teams, they have already faced each other on nine occasions, in which the Chinese won six times and the Angolan team only won three. The last one was in 2002, in which the Angolans won by 96-84.
Angola, in this Asian World Cup, debuted with a defeat against Italy (67-81), beat the Philippines (80-70) and lost to the Dominican Republic, by 67-75, in the game of the 3rd and last round of the groups (A). The event is also qualifying for the “Paris`2024” Olympic Games.
In this qualifying phase, Cape Verde will play Finland at 8 am, New Zealand will face Mexico at 9 am and Côte d ́Ivoire will face Lebanon at 10:45 am, and Japan will face Venezuela at 12 pm hours.
Also, South Sudan faces the Philippines, at 13:00, Egypt plays Jordan, at 13:30, and France faces Iran, at 14:30.
As for Wednesday’s games, for the conclusion of the preliminaries, it dictated the following results:

South Sudan – Serbia (83-115).
United States of America – Jordan (110-62).
Côte d’Ivoire – Brazil (77-89).
Slovenia – Cape Verde (92-77).
