Africa-Press – Angola. Petro de Luanda holds a press conference at 6 pm this Saturday, at the club’s headquarters, in Eixo Viário, as part of the suspension of the football team for two years, for acts of corruption.
Regarding the sanction, released on Friday night by the FAF Disciplinary Council, the board of directors vehemently repudiates, in a note, the decision given “due to the lack of facts and legal grounds for its application”.
In the communication, the “tricolors”, whose football team is the title champion of the National Championship “Girabola2022-23, being the most winning team in the country, with 16 trophies, claim that at no time did it refuse to collaborate as underlined by the federative body .
The note from the Disciplinary Board, states that the suspension stems from the fact that the club, urged to comment on the content of the audio that impacted the exercise of the modality in the country for the worst reasons, claimed to be officially unaware of the situation.
The facts date back to last June, when an audio leaked on social networks in which coach Agostinho Tramagal reveals details about the victory of Académica do Lobito against 1.o de Agosto, by 1-0.
Over the sound, the coach can be heard saying that he received three million kwanzas from Petro de Luanda to win the game against D’Agosto. If that happens, the “tricolors” would rise to the first position of Girabola 2022-23.
Agostinho Tramagal reports that he will have kept one million and divided two million to the players at 100,000 kwanzas each.
He refers to having denied an offer from 1.o de Agosto of seven million kwanzas to let himself be lost and that he did everything to allow Kabuscorp do Palanca to win the semi-final game of the Angola Cup, which did not happen.
Subsequently, Clube 1.o de Agosto is punished with a fine of an amount corresponding to 2,000 UCF (1 UCF equals 88 kwanzas), to be paid within a period not exceeding 20 days, for failure to comply with its duties with the FAF.
“Despite having been notified to comment on the content of the audio, which is the object of the disciplinary process, the guild said nothing, incurring a violation of the duty to cooperate”, reads the communication.
Regarding the journalist Adolfo Manuel, who works for Rádio Nacional de Angola, cited as an intermediary in the practice of acts of corruption, copies of the file are recommended to the Board of Directors of the corresponding body, the Portfolio and Ethics Commission, in addition to the Sports Press Association ( AIDA), so that, if they deem it convenient, they can proceed with the opening of the relevant disciplinary process.
Coach José Alberto Agostinho “Tramagal” is suspended, with immediate effect, for four years and a fine corresponding to 6,000 UCF, for corruption.
The President of Kabuscorp do Palanca, Bento Kangamba, was also suspended, with immediate effect, from all football activity for corruption, for four years and punished with a fine corresponding to 6,000 UCF.
Considering that the Palanca community would constitute the main beneficiary of the agreement, despite the failure, of the manipulation of results of game No. 22/2023 of the Angola Cup, it was punished, with immediate effect, with a dismissal from the division for corruption and a fine in an amount corresponding to 80,000 UCF.
Académica Petróleos Clube do Lobito, with immediate effect, was also sanctioned with a divisional suspension for corruption in game No. 22/2023 of the Angola Cup and a fine corresponding to 80,000 UCF.
According to the document, the athlete Márcio Luvambo, when approaching the Council, made false statements when evoking the montage of his call in the audio.
Thus, he was suspended, with immediate effect, from all football activity, for one year, for breach of the duty of cooperation in this disciplinary process and corruption in relation to game 216/23 of the 27th round of Girabola2022-23 and also sanctioned with a fine in an amount corresponding to 3,000 UCF.
