Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial governor of Huíla, Nuno Mahapi,Monday, in Caluquembe, urged school managers to pay greater attention to the situation of inclusion of children with special educational needs, through the creation of an environment conducive to learning and to growth.

The official made this appeal, in the provincial opening act of the school year, with the motto “The Transformation of Education Begins with the Teacher”, justifying that for the achievement of such a desideratum, the partnership between the school and the family is crucial.

According to Nuno Mahapi, it is essential that inspection and pedagogical supervision redouble the strategies and planning, monitoring and evaluation of activities to be carried out at all levels, allied to the schools’ educational projects.

“The beginning of classes is a moment of renewal, encounters and reunions of new opportunities and exciting challenges that await us during the academic year and this year presents itself as a special and unique opportunity to advance the quality of education, preparing students to face the challenges of the century, in a competent and confident manner”, signaled the governor.

The Government of Huíla, according to its official, has been demonstrating a firm commitment to the education sector, investing in infrastructure, training teachers and developing programs that benefit students, as it believes that education is a right and more than that, it is a condition for combating poverty.

Alongside this, he continued, the authorities continue to look at the education sector as the main driving force behind the development of the province, for this, he bet on the construction of more schools, duly equipped, which are housing more children who studied outdoors. .

In the current academic year, 814 thousand and 82 students are enrolled in the province of Huíla, of which 8 thousand 763 students make their debut in the education system (initiation), distributed 9 thousand 712 in 933 schools.
