Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial governor of Bengo, Maria Antónia Nelumba, in Caxito, urged the new municipal administrators to transform the potential of municipalities into a driving force behind local development for the well-being of the populations.
When speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the six new administrators, appointed this Wednesday, he clarified that it is up to the new managers to change the current situation in the province’s municipalities, where young people feel increasingly skeptical about improving their condition and perspective of future life.
For the governor, a public servant must have an irreplaceable focus on working for the satisfaction of the population and, to this end, a creative spirit, selflessness, parsimony in public spending and total availability in carrying out their duties are required.
“We must show dexterity and foresight in identifying projects within the scope of the integrated program to combat poverty. The distance between the rulers and the governed must be increasingly shorter, he said.
As priority areas, he highlighted health, education, energy, water, the improvement of access roads, and called for special attention to children, women and the elderly, especially those who are in a state of absolute vulnerability.
He encouraged administrators to encourage the creation of family agricultural cooperatives and assist those that already exist, in order to improve their productivity rates and, in the same way, diversify crops.
This Wednesday, the governor of Bengo appointed, Domingos João Lourenço, municipal administrator of Dande, Rosa Alberto Alfredo of (Pango-Aluquém), Joaquim Carlos Cangulo Domingos of (Bula Atumba), Fátima Jesus Pontes dos Ramos Sebastião dos (Dembos) , António Francisco Tingão do (Ambriz) and José Domingos Muginga da Silva do (Nambuangongo).
