Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan ambassador to Senegal, Adão Pinto, held, this Thursday, in Dakar, the Senegalese capital, a courtesy meeting with his North American counterpart, Michael Raynor, with whom he discussed political and economic aspects of interest common between the two countries in the international arena.

According to a note from the Angolan embassy in Senegal, at the meeting, held at the diplomatic representation of the United States of America (USA), both heads of missions discussed, among other topics, the armed conflict in Ukraine, with Ambassador Adão Pinto reiterating the position of non-indifference taken by the majority of African countries, based on the Protocol on the Establishment of the Peace and Security Council of the African Union (AU).

Likewise, the recent coups d’état observed in West and Central Africa, particularly those in Niger and Gabon, also merited the approach, with Ambassador Michael Raynor referring to the need to find solutions to these evils which, negatively, are worsening , leading to delay and underdevelopment.

On the other hand, in a reference to Angola, Ambassador Michael Raynor highlighted the major reforms taking place in the country and highlighted the active role of the Angolan Government in resolving conflicts on the continent.

The theme of training and elevating African youth was another of the topics discussed, with Ambassador Adão Pinto praising the role of the United States in the contribution it has made to the training of young people, thus preventing, for example, the flight of citizens through Mediterranean Sea for illegal emigration to Europe.
