Africa-Press – Angola. The population of the town of Manquete, municipality of Ombadja, in Cunene, received new social infrastructure this Monday, an initiative of the Ministry of National Defense and Veterans of the Homeland.
It is a primary school with six classrooms, which will house 540 students in two shifts, who previously studied under the trees, a health center and two T3 residences for teachers and nurses.
The school and health post, with offices, administrative areas, changing rooms, reception, triage room, infirmary and kitchen, have drinking water and electricity, via a 40 kvas generator set.
At the delivery, the municipal administrator of Ombadja, Elizeth Mwamelungi, praised the initiative that resulted in the construction of social enterprises, which arrived at the right time to help improve education and assistance in the Manquete community.
Elizeth Mwamelungi urged the population to take care of the public assets that were sorely lacking in this location, to last and serve other generations.
On the occasion, the head of the Agricultural Services of the General Staff of the FAA, Lieutenant-General Miguel Júnior, said that the sector will continue to build infrastructures of this kind, for the well-being of the population.
The municipality of Ombadja has 62 schools from primary to secondary education and 1,165 teachers.
With a population of 394,964 inhabitants, the municipality of Ombadja is 98 kilometers from the city of Ondjiva and is divided by the communes of Xangongo (headquarters), Humbe, Naulila, Mucope and Ombala Yo Mungo.
