Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial secretary of UNITA in Cuanza Sul, Armando Kaquepa, defended, this Monday, greater speed in completing the requalification works in the city of Sumbe, in favor of improving the quality of life of city dwellers and beyond.
With a physical execution of around 65 percent, the Sumbe Integrated Infrastructure Development Project is being carried out by the contractor China Harbor Engineering Company (CHEC).
Budgeted at more than 460 million US dollars, the program includes the construction of 1,816 homes (1,260 T2 and 556 T3), the rehabilitation of the city’s technical networks (water, energy, waste treatment station and sidewalks), the reinforcement of unstable slopes, where hundreds of people currently live, among other works.

“The rehabilitation of the city of Sumbe must be completed as soon as possible, as it will facilitate mobility, contributing to the social well-being of the population. However, the Executive has the mission to fulfill its part, making the funds available in a timely manner, so that the construction company can carry out the work smoothly and complete within the stipulated deadlines”, he highlighted.
On the occasion, the party leader called for the strengthening of unity among city dwellers for the economic and social development of Cuanza Sul.
